I m new in san francisco, so i have no idea about the public transportations in san francisco.

San Francisco has very good public transportation system.you can go almost everywhere in the city without a car.first, Muni is most common public transportation in SF.we just call Muni instead of bus. there are lots of muni line, and you can check the arriving time and muni line at www.nextmuni.comalso, BART is very important public transportation between SF and the bay area.just inside SF, muni is enough but if you wanna go to out of city, but not too far, like the bay area, you need to take the BART. BART has 4 lines, and is kind of subway.you can go to SFO airport, Berkeley, Oakland, Union city, and many other cities near SF by BART.lastly, Cable Car is very useful for the local as well as attractive for tourists.it is pretty expensive, $5. but if you have muni fast pass($55/month), you can use it.cable car has just 3 line, but you can enjoy the awesome sceneries from a heel.

Inside the city Muni offers buses, trolleys, light rail and cable car transportation. Individual rides are $5 for the cable car $2 for every other conveyance. Most residents by a monthly pass that just went up to $60.For complete information check out the map, schedules and fare info at http://www.sfmuni.comBART has trains that serve SF and connect it to the East Bay and a limited area south of the City. You can purchase BART tickets online or at the stations. Fare is based on distance traveled. Muni also offers a second monthly pass that includes Bart use within San Francisco for $70.
