I m always off on odd days of the week when most people are working but it doesn t stop me from having fun. I like to spend afternoons at the nicer hotel bars like the Carousel bar at the Monteleone Hotel or the Sazerac Room at the Roosevelt and I make it a point to try a new cocktail or ask the bartender to make their specialty. Both of these bars employ very knowledgeable mixologist and are great if you enjoy the art of a good cocktail. You could also get a sandwich from Verdi Mart or Central Grocery and sit on the moon walk along the Mississippi River. Or, take the streetcar uptown and have a drink on the front porch of the Columns Hotel, picnic in Audobon park and then head over to happy hour at Superior Grill. Then weather should be nice so get out and about!
the french quarter is a nice place to go. there are people doing all kinds of activities. like juggling, many great street musician. people painting outside. do to small hole in the wall restaurants they have the best food. of coarse bourbon street is cool. it is safe at night . canal street is a neat street to walk around. day or night. they also have a great aquarium . called the aquarium of the Americas. there is a mall on the mississippi river as well. everything around canal street is within walking distance. i would get a hotel around canal st. so you can walk or take a cab.. i have go to go out one night and check out some local pub with some great music. they have so much local blues and jazz bands that are great. i have had the best time in new orleans not going during martie gras. too many drunk crazy people.
Yes. Go To Lafittes Blacksmith Shop, Pat O s Piano Bar, Eat a good dinner, Muriels. Also, Yo Mamas Bar and Grill has awesome burgers. Also, go check out music at snug harbor.
You should either go to the Lake Front or go to the Aquarium. That s what I would do.
