Columbus, OH: I love the Statehouse (capitol building). You are able to take self-guided tours through it, open any door that s unlocked. Basically, you almost have the run of the place during the times it s open and it s free. They also have really interesting special events there. I love going on my afternoons off to wander and see all the architecture and practice photography. President Lincoln visited the Statehouse twice when he was alive and his funeral train stopped there on its way to Illinois and each year there s a commemorative event.
