Where is the best place to live in Alaska? -

I m looking for the warmest area in the winter.

Then you want to move to Tropical Alaska!! That is Sitka!!I lived in Sitka for a number of years and totally loved it. It about never gets much colder than 30F - it will snow, it sticks for a few days, then melts and is gone. Thing is - to really truly enjoy Sitka you need to buy a small boat - 12-16 footer with a 25-50hp motor and a trailer. Nothing fancy needed - but - Sitka has world class fishing and hunting that starts just a few hundred yards away from the Starcaven docks. I have literally launched my boat when somone arrives at the dock, gone around cove and taken a deer, and been back a the dock before the other guy has his boat in the water. Sitka has more fish than any other place. You can jig a black pocket comb in the water and something will try to eat it - halibut or dungeneese crab. With a small boat you can go fishing for salmon, halibut, crabbing etc just a few minutes from the dock - and go hunting for deer and brown bear.If you do not have a boat - Sitka can be a dreary lonely place.

Along the southeast coast where the Japanese Current flows near land and creates a temperate climate.
