Girlfriend and I are clueless as to what to wear during a chicago winter.? -

Ok, my girlfriend and I are heading up to Chicago for 3 days to eat at a fine dining restaurant. The only issue is that we are both Florida natives and are, even to our amazement utterly clueless as to what should be worn in a harsh winter climate like Chicago in January. Now there are two sides to this question:1.We basically are under the impression that a thick sweater and a heavy jacket ought to keep us warm enough, is that right? What should we wear to keep our legs warm?2. Since we are going to fine dining restaurant we also need to know what would be consider acceptable attire other than the jacket that is required for us to eat there. That is to say: What shoes, pants and shirt might be acceptable? Before anyone says anything about how I should call them, just let me say that they are closed today and today also happens to be a rare day in which I have time to go shopping. Thanks in advance.

http://www.corpsman.com/images/cold.jpgHere s very cold weather attire. If you are leaving immediately /// this is the next 15 day forecast. http://www.accuweather.com/us/il/chicagoAll of the above are correct. Long underwear, scarf, gloves, sweaters, heavy coat. Most important A hat or hood. If your head is warm, youre warmer. Its better to layer clothes. 1) helps hold in the heat better 2) you can always take a layer off, if you get too warm. You can probably make do w/o boots..as long as you have an alternate pair of casual shoes, so your dress shoes dont get ruined. You ll get colder than most as youre not adapted to the weather.Plus, Chicago The Windy City is right on Lake Michigan..so they have the lake effect chill factors...wind..

Definitely long underwear, warm gloves, hat, scarf, warm (down if you have it) jacket. If there s snow in the forecast BRING BOOTS. Believe me, you won t look out of place. For the restaurant nice slacks and either a jacket and shirt or nice sweater. You don t really need a tie. But definitely dress warmly -- there s nothing that ruins January in Chicago than not dressing for the elements.

A hat, thick gloves, a scarf, and thermal underwear. For a fine dining place, go with a jacket and tie. Your ears, fingers and feet should have good coverage as they are the first to get frostbite.

you can buy thremo underwear to wear under your jeans a nice dress shirt and dress pants or a nice sweart with dress pants dress shoes

Wear everything you own !!!

casually shirt, pants, boats or leggys
