They used to explain it better, but they don t want to anymore. The signs used to say You may pay what you like, but you must pay something. The suggested admission is: __________. Today, this is still true. You may pay a penny if you like (but it s really bad form to do so!) But you must pay something. If I go a lot, I will pay less. These days I don t go as much as I used to, so I pay $10.00 or so. But I do think that the tourists ought to cough up the full amount. People who go less should pay more, in my opinion. But you cannot pay nothing at all.

Admission to the metropolitan museum of art? -
I m confused about this business with the MET. Under admission there is a recommended price. Does that mean it s free but they want you to pay. Will they not let me in if I don t pay?
