There is no supposed to snow or not in the Willamette Valley. The weather does what it wants, and almost always defies all long range predictionsthat is, the so-general-they-are-useless NOAA seasonal forecasts are not worth planning anything around. The Portland area is generally at the threshold of receiving snowfall several times each winter. Whether it does is a matter of 1 or 2 degrees Fahrenheit cooling, or just a storm system turning slightly and skirting just north or south of the area when other conditions are right. These variables are well beyond any climate modeling, bunion ache, or weather soothsayer to anticipate.
We are usually good for at least one good snow. Last year it was at Christmas, but I think it happens more in January
I sure hope so!
