After you decide what route yall will be taking you should check out roadsideamerica.com- anytime me and my husband want to go on a road trip we go there and find offbeat roadside attractions. We always have a blast and offers up some funny photo opportunities!Another thing we do will search whatever place we are going events in Google and find random festivals to go to where ever we will be. One year we took a road trip to Virginia Beach and found a reggae festival to go to as well as a Wine Jazz and Art Festival. A few weekends ago we took a road trip to Nashville and found a Beer Bourbon and BBQ festival. You could always try Memphis, Nashville and Knoxville. There s quite a bit to do in those places!
Check out the National Park Service s website at www.nps.gov. Most National Parks are either free or really cheap to get into and there s a ton of variety. You can buy a National Parks Passport for 8 bucks and keep a record of all the places you go to.One that s pretty close by that I would highly recommend is Mammoth Caves National Park in Kentucky. Abraham Lincoln s house in Springfield, IL is pretty cool too.
