How long did it take to travel in covered wagon from Chicago to Sacramento in the 1800s? -

i m doing a project for s.s. i need to know how long it took to go from Chicago to Sacramento in a covered wagon in the 1800 s. i also need to know if the people used a certain trail. i ll give 10 points to whoever with the best anwser!!!!Thanx so much!!!!

They are 1790 miles between Sacramento and Chicago. If they traveled at 5 mph for 8 hours a day they would travel 40 miles a day. If they did this every day they would make it to Sacramento in about 45 days, 1 and a half months. This is if everything is perfect. I would guess in reality it would take two to three months to travel.
