OK Let s start with #1 You are most def old enough to book a hotel (providing you have a Credit Card with your name on it of course) Go onto Expedia or a site like that and you will be able to sort through a variety of hotels by price and star rating. This time of year will be very costly so I would wait.Walking around the city is fun and FREE and then from there you can decide what to do. The touristy things are good to do once ie Empire state, Ferry to Liberty Island and all are relatively inexpensive.Eating out will cost you $$$ if you want a decent meal and not from a street vendor. But my suggestion is for two days - Enjoy it - bring about $500-800 in spending cash and you should be just fine.I went when I was about your age and it was amazing! Hope this helps.
You have a lot of questions. Instead of relying on a few sentences here, go to the library or bookstore and get a good guidebook to NYC. It will give you many options and lots of detailed information on how to get there, where to stay, where to eat, what to see, etc. One online guidebook is here: http://www.frommers.com/destinations/new but it s best to have one you can take with you on your trip.Hotels in NYC often start around $200 to $300. Food can be anywhere from $10 to $500 a day. There are thousands and thousands of shops.
