CAN YOU BRING CAMERAS TO THE MoMA?!? -

I m going to the MoMA tomorrow and I really want to bring my camera! I m borrowing it from school so it s one of those fancy nikons... Do you think I ll be able to bring it and take photos inside the museum?? Thanks in advance!

Of course, you could take picture at museum collections, but no flash or trip pod.In Special Exhibition, photography is not allowed.

Sure, you can take cameras into pretty much any museum that I know of and take still photos as long as you don t use a tripod and don t use a flash. However if there is some kind of special exhibition going on sometimes they won t allow photos of that particular exhibit (you can still have your camera with you but just not be allowed to photograph anything in those areas). Usually you ll know if photos aren t allowed in a certain exhibition because there will be signs and people working there making sure everyone knows photography isn t allowed. Have fun at MoMA!

From the Museum of Modern Art s website: Still photography for personal use is permitted in collection galleries only. No flash or tripods allowed. Videotaping is permitted in the lobby only. No photographs or videotapes may be reproduced, distributed, or sold without permission from the Museum.
