You re only a sophomore right now. But you re on an excellent track. Now junior year and senior year you better take 2-3 AP s each year. These are so important because it shows the college that your high GPA wasn t earned because you took easy classes, but that you worked hard for it and most importantly it shows that you are capable of doing well in a challenging environment. Also, you should take the SAT s starting junior year. Try and take it 3 times if your scores aren t automatically good enough. A 2200 would be perfect. Keep up your GPA, clubs, and volunteer work, take hard classes, and ace the SAT s. you will get in for sure.
The average GPA at Cal as of 2008 is 2014, and the average GPA is 4.18. So you probably have a pretty good shot. Keep getting good grades, and study for the SAT...
