Nice hotel in Vail, Aspen and Denver?? transport from Vail to Denver downtown? going for honeymoon. thanks? -

How can I go to Vail to denver downtown the cheapest way?? all buses seem to go to DIA! By the way, advice for a nice hotel in Vail and Aspen and a nice hotel in denver downtown?? going for a honeymoon from spain. thank you

OK, so Denver first: Theres a Ritz-Carlton downtown, but I personally prefer the Brown Palace (http://www.brownpalace.com). Now I realize these are fairly pricey, but I m assuming you want to do something nice for your honeymoon. Otherwise, look at Hotels.com and search Denver, CO for more ideas. Now Vail, Ski Towns are tricky, because most of their guests are skiers. Skiers aren t necessarily looking for a nice, beautiful hotel, so when you see a review of a ski town hotel, it is probably based on utility (I.E., everything in the room works, so it gets 5 stars). I ve found that if you re looking for something nice, get a hotel downtown, NOT at the base area. Same goes for Aspen. For transportation, your best bet is to drive. You do NOT want to spend 2 hours of your honeymoon on a bus with 40 skiers and their equipment. And if you re going in the late spring or summer, the buses won t even be running. Believe me, you re going to enjoy a nice car ride where you can chat and laugh much better. Have fun on your trip!

If you are looking for luxury hotel accommodation, the the Ritz Carlton in Denver would be it.The Brown Palace is a landmark Denver hotel offering great accommodations and services. Most politicians and diplomats stay in this hotel during visits to Denver. Although it is considered a luxury hotel, do not expect modern/up-to-date furnishings and ambiance. In terms of location, both the Ritz and Brown Palace are right within downtown and very accessible to many restaurants and shops. Personally, I have not stayed in either but even local reviews rate both hotels top-notch.Regarding your trip to Vail and Aspen, the most common shuttle transport to Vail is the Colorado Mountain Express (CME).I know that CME shuttles are non-stop from the Denver Int l Airport (DIA). I have posted a link to CME s website as you may want to check with them if they pick-up from hotels downtown. If you have difficulty finding transportation to Vail from Denver, my suggestion would be to go to DIA from your Denver hotel and get the Vail shuttle from there. Maybe, the Denver hotel you will eventually choose will have a free shuttle to the aiprort. May I also suggest you check DIA s website and check Ground Transportation for other options to Vail and Aspen.Personally, I have not experienced/checked-in in any of the downtown Denver hotels, but I may be able to share with you accommodations in Vail and Aspen, which is a favorite out-of town trips for us.In Vail:(It s indeed ski season so rates are not only higher but depending on the date/s you willbe there, I suggest you make early bookings.)Luxury:* Sonnenalp - within Vail Village, exquisite surroundings, service and the best breakfast buffet on Sundays.Other options:* Marriott Vail Mountain Resort Spa - in Lionshead Village, a very short walking distance to Vail village - their Jr. suite rooms are spacious with a fireplace, a small kitchenette and a walk-out balcony. * Lions Square Lodge - adjacent to the Marriott and their 1 bedroom condo mountainside is one of our favorites as it is big with a full kitchen, perfect for take-out dinners and snacks. The walk-out balcony is big and great for spending time out just looking at the slopes and the chair lifts going up the slopes. All three of the above are within walking distance even if location is termed as different villages such as Vail and Lionshead. We have never spent a night in Aspen as we would normally stay in Vail and drive to Aspen (about 2 hrs.) for the day and go back to Vail. However, the Hotel Jerome in Aspen looked very nice from the outside. Maybe, someone who has tried some Aspen accommodations will be giving you inputs as well.Hope this helps. http://www.flydenver.com/http://www.ridecme.com/
