Assuming that you want to travel for tourist purposes you will need to obtain an appointment for a visa interview at the U.S. Embassy at Stockholm; the waiting time for an interview is 16 calender days at present. For your visa interview you need to submit the following documentation.? your original Indian passport? your Swedish Uppeh?llstillst?nd? your 120-personbevis med alla relationer from the Swedish tax authorities (skattemyndigheten).? one colored photograph (attached to your DS-156 Form): less than six months old, 5x5cm, against a white background, where you are facing the camera directly. Home made computer print-out photos, are not accepted.? original receipt of 1050 SEK paid into bankgiro 5452-8948. The receipt must state applicants names, amount paid (1050 SEK per applicant) and bankgiro number. Make sure that your bank issues something verifiable with the above information. Internet receipts will not be accepted.? electronic DS-156 application form filled online and printed out, hand-written applications are not accepted; document must be signed? downloaded and completed DS-157 application form? a self addressed stamped envelope (stamps worth 62 SEK must be put on envelope) for the return of your passport. The passport will be sent back with registered mail. You need to show ID to be able to obtain the parcel from the postal services. If the passport is your only means of ID you need to address the envelope to someone else.? a police record in original, copies of court records and of any prison records should you have been arrested or convicted for any offense or crime. ? a current bank statement or other evidence to show that you have sufficient funds to cover the costs of the trip. If someone else will be financing it a bank statement and a letter of consent from this person.? an employment letter stating the type of contract, how long you have been employed for and for how long you have been granted vacation or leave. This only applies to people that have employers.? a travel plan of places you intend to visit, people you intend to stay with, and approximate dates? an invitation letter (e-mail, letter, fax) from family or friends with whom you intend to stay during your trip http://stockholm.usembassy.gov/visas.htm ..Should you plan to apply for another type of visa please consult the attached link for the requirements.http://stockholm.usembassy.gov/consulate ..

Before traveling to the U.S., a citizen of a foreign country must generally obtain a nonimmigrant visa for temporary stay or an immigrant visa for permanent residence. The type of visa you will need is based on the purpose of your travel.

If you want to come as a tourist, you need a b-2 visa. See 1st site below and follow directions there. If you want a visa for a different purpose, see 2nd site.
