Best parts of the Center City area include Rittenhouse Square and Society Hill, but they are quite pricey. Going further down into South Philly, you can find some decent neighborhoods. Going north, Northern Liberties and Fishtown are becomming trendy, but they are close to slums as well.
how much money do u have...See let me clue you into a little secret...the bad guys know where the rich nice neighborhoods are so ur never totally safe...in any urban city...but if u have the bucks...Chestnut hill, Rittenhouse square, society hill, Graduate Hosp area...Art Museum area.I lived in Philadelphia for 40 years..and the safest place to live is in the immediate suburbs of Montgomery County, Berks County and some parts of delaware county..all accessible to downtown Philly in a half hour or less by Regional Rail..
