I leave for Vail the day after christmas and im hoping to get to the bowls

Another thing to consider is the considerable avalanche danger, which is keeping other areas open bowls from opening recently. So with this storm they may open it to attract tourists like you, but in my opinion: No, I don t think they ll open for another couple weeks. It s been a rough year for central Colorado. The north and south CO areas have been pounded by snow, but not the Vail area.
