Thanksgiving in NYC - Avoiding the parade? -

I am going to be in NYC on Thanksgiving Day, but I was planning to arrive after the parade was over. I have dinner reservations at 4ish in the Bryant Park area and would like to catch a show after dinner. I was wondering how long it took for the masses to start to clear out of the Times Square area. I know it will remain busy, but I want to avoid the major departure chaos of the parade-goers. Would 2PM work?

2 pm should be fine if you aren t planning to drive. If you are taking mass transit, you should be fine by 2 pm.Things clear out pretty quickly after the parade, amazingly enough. But not for car traffic.
