1. Free shows on the strip (can easily be done in one evening) - Bellagio Fountains, Mirage Volcanoes, Pirate Show at Treasure Island2. See a show - any show. It s just not a trip to Vegas without a show. Some good ones to consider are Penn Teller, the Cirque shows, Jubilee, Lance Burton, Blue Man Group, Jersey Boys, Phantom...to name a few.3. View from the top of the Stratosphere is amazing. There is a revolving restaurant up there that is really neat, and the lunch prices aren t too bad. Dinner is pricey. But it s fun to see the strip from the top and watch the people on all the crazy rides!4. Maddame Tussaud s Wax Museum is really neat, and there are often Buy One Get One coupons in the coupon books you can get in the taxis. It s located at Venetian.5. Check out the shops at Caesars and Venetian. The malls themselves are neat, and the shops are amazing.
I ve been to Vegas several times. After my first visit I was planning my next trip on the plane ride home! I went with a huge list of things I wanted to see and do, but once you get there you face many cool distractions and time slips away from you! So on the way home I found myself saying OMG we didn t see.....! So here is MY top 5 things that I think you should not leave without seeing!1) Bellagio Fountains~ It s free, easy to get to, and it will take your breath away! I didn t see it until my 3rd trip and now I make it a point to see it every time! It s an attraction that really cannot be fully explained! You just have to see it! It s on a lot of people s bucket list ! And now you can check it off of yours! 2) M M s World/ Coke a Cola World~ I combine these two because they are connected and are somewhat more of the same! Both are multilevel stores with their brands of merchandise. M M s World has a show and walk through factory on the top floor. Get your picture taken with a M M character standing out front! And buy any color M M s you want! Spend $8 and and drink samples of 16 different sodas from around the world at the Coke a Cola store. Now where else can you do that! Drink a coke from an old fashion fountain! Shop you a take home glass! It s fun! Both of these can be done in one afternoon and they are free! Located next to MGM Grand.3) The Las Vegas Sign! I didn t do this until my 3rd trip because it s not walkable from the strip. But it s only a 3 minute taxi ride from MGM Grand. It will cost you around $15 round trip from MGM Grand. It s worth it! It gives you such a high! Have the cab driver take your picture, you ll want it for later! I like going during the day better because I think the pictures turn out better! The wind will blow in your hair, people will honk at you as they drive by and it makes you feel on top of the world! Don t miss it!4) Fremont Street Experience~ A light show like no other! It s a large canopy of t.v. covering three blocks! All the downtown casino s turn off their lights and the light show takes over usually on the top of every hour after dark. It s amazing and it s free! And it screams Vegas! We did this on my first trip and we I go back with Vegas Virgins it is a must do! It s downtown so you are looking at a 10 minute bus ride or 5 minute taxi ride. 5) You have a few choices for # 5! But the idea is to get a birds eye view of the strip! Stratosphere Tower is the choice for most. It will cost around $15 to get up there and around $7 each if you want to ride any of the 3 rides at the top. It takes about 30 minutes to get from the ticket booth, through the line, and up the elevator. But once up there man the view cannot be beat!!! You can see the entire strip and downtown and the mountains and the red rocks! It s amazing during the day and breath taking at night! It is at the end of the strip so things are on a smaller scale. There is an expensive restaurant at the top also, it does a 360 degrees rotation while you dine! The Eiffel Tower at Paris is a close second in my book. There are no rides, but it is dead center on the strip so the view is in your face. And it s right in front of the fountains listed as #1 so kill 2 birds sort of thing and there s more time for slots and blackjack! It s more romantic and less of a wait and somewhat easier to get to since it s in the middle of everything. And it s around the same price, I think it was $12 lat time I was there but 2 for 1 coupons are everywhere! Other options are restaurants or clubs on top of hotels, like Rio or Mandalay Bay. If spending $12 on a beer or $18 on a mixed drink is your thing then those are your places!Have fun and do go off course because you ll see the best things that way! Eat at the buffets! Walk the strip instead of drive! And set a budget for gambling! You ll have a great time!
Five things I also do when in Vegas are:Visit the conservatory at BellagioVisit the Mirage to see the white tigersWatch the fountains at Lake of BellagioEat at Rio s Carnival Buffet and watch the free Masquerade ShowHave prime rib and homemade rootbeer at Ellis Island.
Come to Vegas enjoy the gambling, wild clubs, restaurants and shows. But before you leave you owe it to yourself to see the real Vegas that many visitors and we who live here know and love. Vegas is surrounded by National Parks that are spectacular. Dont miss them. Take a look at the videos at VegasNature.com. Their Visitor s Blog has a lot of info too.
