Alhambra is okay, and relatively safe in most parts. The center of the Indian community here in Los Angeles County is further Southeast, in Artesia, Cerritos, Norwalk, and Lakewood, stretching into La Palma and Buena Park, in nearby Orange County. The main area for shopping and business within the Indian community is along Pioneer Blvd in Artesia, this area is known as Little India. In Alhambra there are apartments all over. The most expensive are near the downtown area off Main street and also near Huntington Drive. The rent gets lower nearer to Monterey Park but the area also gets a bit more depressing that way, as well. The nicer areas, are closer to South Pasadena, and San Gabriel.
