Has any one from New Zealand taken a gap year in America nannying? -

Hi im thinking of taking a gap year after year 13.. i was wondering if anyone from New Zealand has done this and could give me any advice on it???Anything would be useful, even if your not from NZ.. THANKYOU :)

To legally work in the United States you will need a work visa, which means an American parent would have to sponsor you. The are some agencies that may assist finding one. Be on notice that often the person you Nanny for may also consider you to be their maid, and expect you to also do house cleaning. Be EXTREMELY careful about selecting a family to work for. Occasionally you will find a male living in the home who thinks you are also there to entertain him, if you get what I mean.
