Chinatown is quite busy at that hour, so it s as safe as any place Downtown. Chinatown is only a couple of blocks long and wide. It gets dicey after the bars close, but you are traveling in rush hour. (The Combat Zone is long gone.)Green v Orange depends where you are going. At 6:00 on a weekday, the Green Line is slow and packed. Orange is faster and packed. I assume you would be going to either Boylston on the Green or Chinatown on the Orange. They are only a block apart. Which stops are you traveling from and to? That makes a difference.
Just watch out around Boylston between Washington and Tremont. There are I believe shelters around there and usually are a bunch of scary lookin people around there. Honestly that is the only section (that exact area) that I have ever felt the slightest threat of any kind (though I am a guy and from ny).For the most part no worries though. Just don t be out too too late, some crackies can come out around the area as most sleep in the park.
You re very safe walking to the T in Chinatown at that hour. As far as whether you take the Orange Line from Chinatown or the Green Line from Boylston, that all depends on where you re going. Both of them are safe.
Don t worry ! Everybody is getting out of work around that time. The better question is how are you gonna get on the train with so many people around you.
yes it is very safe
