Road trip SF - LA - Las Vegas.... Where else should I go? -

I m planning this road trip from SF to LA to LV or the other way around. Are there any other places I should add to my list ???I think there is grand canyon close....What else ? Any other places I should drive through ?I think this trip will be 2 weeks in total

Be sure and drive down the coast instead of on the freeways. Monterrey is quite beautfiul.
