My boyfriend and I are going to denver for christmas...what should our budget be? -

we will be leaving on Christmas eve and drive the 10 hour trip to denver. We plan on having at least $100 for gas and the hotel will be 60/night. We will only be there for 3 nights/4 days. But the problem is how much money should we have to use on souvenirs and food. This is my first major road trip (im 19) and don t know how much money we should have for each. If anyone can help us that would be great. I was thinking $200 for the hotel, breakfast is free, but then have $40 for food the rest of the day, and have $80 for souvenirs...should i change this or is it fine?

I agree that $40 a day is not enough unless you are counting just yourself not your boyfriend? Also, I would prefer to have too much money than to run out. $80 for souvenirs? That might be a bit much, as I don t know really what you think you will need. As long as you have a camera, a coat, and a hat you should be good. Have fun, Colorado is beautiful right now.

You ll need more than $40 a day for food. Dinner for 2 at any sit down restaurant. Chilies, Apple bees, etc. will be at least $40 with tip, Lunch at McDonald s $10 -$15. Plus snacks. You ll need at least $60-$70 a day. Hotel sounds a little low for Denver in the winter. I hope you make reservations. Have fun and MERRY CHRISTMAS
