Whats open on Christmas day in New Orleans? -

I m planning to go to New Orleans on Dec 24 -Dec 25. Questions : is there anything will open on xmas eve and xmas day such as french market, bars in bourbon st , Food might be overpriced . Anyone who ve been there on xmas day please help me. I don t want to drive for 6 hours to eat fast food or chinese and nothing to do.. I want to see everything, not much of the bar lover. Should I change my plan to Dec 27-Dec 28???Thanks a million and Merry X-Mas to you all ;)PS: Any others suggestion accept.

A few bars will be open on Christmas Day but most will be closed, and probably only restaurants in the hotels will be open. Almost everythng else will be closed. I recommend changing to December 27th - 28th. For things to do: www.frenchquarter.com

The Everything that you want to see is really closed, it is a sad day in bars in the Quarter that are open. Carriage riders are out on Christmas day, the Ghost Tours operate on Christmas day too. Dinner on the Natchez on the 24th brings you to huge bonfires along the river - that s a nice thing to do on the 24th. But for Christmas day, there isn t much else open.
