What are some Cleveland Suburbs to live in and where should we stay away from? -

My Husband and I are moving to the Cleveland area...he just got relocated to Hinckley, OH. So far we have been searching online aroung the Strongsville, Medina, North Royalton, Brecksville areas. We want to buy and prefer newer construction. Also looking for a younger neighborhood as we do not have children yet but plan too in the next 3-5 years. Great schools and near by shopping is also preferred. Also we have been getting some insite from people at his place of employment...they stated to stay away from North Royalton...but we found some homes there we really like! Please let me know where we should look???

All of the suburbs mentioned are nice places with good schools and tend to have newer constructed houses. The Metroparks reservation and South Park Shopping mall are nice amenities. I am completely clueless as to why someone said to stay away from North Royalton. Strongsville is maybe considered a little more prestigious than the others, but maybe not. Medina and Brecksville are kind of out of the way, and people in the Cleveland area always seem to lament when they have go there for something. I d also recommend looking in to Olmsted Falls. That isn t too far from Hinkley, and it has a much better school system than the places you mentioned. It is also a lot smaller community in terms of population which I think is an advantage. It is a very pretty community with a lot of trees and almost a New England village feel. Great Northern Shopping Mall is nearby in North Olmsted.

Stongsville very nice area, great schools, plenty of shopping. North Royalton I don t know the schools but the homes are nice and it is right next to Strongsville. It is notBrecksville also nice, great schools. Not so close to shopping.Medina nice area but too far from everything. Check out the city s website on ohio website, see how schools rate. All the scores are there.Except Medina I would live in all those cities but live on the westside. And very picky were I live!Drive around, go shopping in those areas!

I live in Parma, by York Rd. and Ridge Rd. North Royalton is very close and it is beautiful. If I could afford a house I would definitely buy one in North Royalton. If you pick Brecksville you have cops that are always watching your every move. Noone drive over 25 mph through that city on route 21. But North Royalton, the air is clean and the scenery is nice, and you feel like you can drive like a normal person.

All the places you mentioned are great places to live. Be careful with Brecksville because their taxes are very high. I ve found people in Strongsville and North Royalton to be a little high strung and pushy (of course not everyone), and people in Medina to be more laid back, but that s just my own personal experience. When I was looking for a place to live, people told me not to move to Brunswick, so I wouldn t consider moving there.

I think the communities you named will be fine. Also, consider Richfield. It s an up and coming city not far from Hinkley.Of those you ve named, you ll probably get the most house for your money in Strongsville. Plus, they ve got great shopping there.

You can t go wrong with Westlake it s younger and affluent. However I like bay village but bay village is a kid community. !
