Are there any good stargazing spots near Tallahassee? -

I m hoping to go watch the meteor shower tomorrow night with some friends. To that end, I d like to find a place a little north of Tallahassee (up to about 40 minutes, and definitely north of I-10). I d like to be away from any light sources, and in a place where it wouldn t be illegal to have a dozen people sitting on blankets (i.e., not in some dude s large back yard, or in a park that closes at sunset). Any suggestions?

When I was going to UCF in Orlando I would go to the observatory on campus and it was amazing to watch the showers. I m sure the college up there has an observatory that is open to the public. Plus, the observatory s set in an area that is away from lights so they shouldn t interfere.
