What are some tips for New Years Eve in Times Square? -

Coming from the big city of CLINTON, INDIANA!!!! (sarcasm, over). Never even been to New York City, let alone NYC on NYE. Three of us trekking over, aged 20, 20, 18. We know literally, nothing, about how this thing works.Also, we were wondering how we can find out ahead of time who might be performing there. You always see sweet people like Black Eyed Peas, Taylor Swift, etc, performing from the TV show, just wondering if we could find a way to maybe catch their performance, if we could. Would be a neat way to see some big stars that forget Indiana is a state when it comes to their tours, even if it s for a song or two.Thanks! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

If you want to get a good spot, you ll have to get there before noon (seriously). As the previous poster stated, if you leave your pen you won t be allowed back in, even if you just need to use the bathroom. Apparently, some people wear adult diapers in order to solve this problem. You might also want to look into buying hand and feet warmers, since it can get super cold out there (last year it was about 18 degrees for the low, and only 35 for the high). There are no backpacks allowed.As for performers, you ll probably just have to google it.

Dress warm and get there early, because the area can get filled fast. Also, consider staying there a long time, because if you leave your designated area for anything, you ll be out of luck.Good luck
