Wow, it isn t often I get to correct the Jedi Master of Transit, TravelMaster. The distance from Ojai to LA is just about the same distance from Carpinteria to LA. From Ojai, you have to take highway 33 out of the mountains to Ventura, then you take 101 into LA. From Carpinteria, you just take 101. Carp is 84 miles, Ojai is 83 miles. So they re basically the same distance, but you can get to Carp faster because you don t have to do any mountain driving. It s about 90 minutes to Carp, about 105 minutes to Ojai by car.I m very surprised that TM doesn t know that the Amtrak train stops in Carpinteria, just steps from the beach and the campground there. We ve used the train quite a few times to get family members up there. Trip time is about 2.5 hours from LA (due to the stops at the stations, and the fact that you go via Chatsworth and Simi Valley). There s no train service to Ojai, you have to take a Ventura bus from the Ventura train station.
well no train service ojai (you would have to board at ventura)_same with carpinerta (no train stops there again having to board at either ventura or santa barbaraby car since capintera is closer to Santa Barbara and Ojai is closer to venturathat means Capinterria would be further from Los Angeleshow long by train maybe 90 minsby car maybe a hour (depending on traifffic of course)
ojai is definetly farther by car because of the little bitty lame roads you have to take to get there.
