Ashton, I don t know for sure but there are a couple of places you could try.1. Yahoo s yellow pages has a list of churches in the Community-Religion section. Type brooklyn ny and you may get some hits. I ve never lived there but some Black churches will call themselves by a Missionary Baptist church. For example, you may find (I m putting something at random here) North 7th Street Missionary Baptist Church. This is not, repeat not, a surefire or infallible guide to finding a church but it s a place to look if all else fails .2. The Southern Baptist web site, at http://www.sbc.net has a church search feature. Again, you could type Brooklyn, NY in the search box and you ll get a list of every Southern Baptist church that s been listed. Try the map feature and see if one is close to where you live. Some of these churches may have websites and/or a profile feature where you can find more information.3. Don t forget the National Baptist Convention, too. I hadn t thought of these before your question but again, try to google or do a Yahoo search for this group of churches. I haven t tried this in a long time so it s anybody s guess what you might find. Here s hoping our Lord leads you to the best possible place to worship and serve Him.4. Also something I just now thought of (one of those DUH! moments!) is the phone book! You may find a listing for a church right there. Don t forget to ask your friends and co-workers as they may be able to help in your search, too.5. Last but not least, if there are agencies like David Wilkerson s ministry (Teen Challenge?), one of them could possibly give you some assistance.Whatever you do, try to find a church as quickly as you can. New York City is a mission field and the Lord needs many to do His work there, as in other places. Who knows, you may be the answer to a church s prayers!
