What are some nice, small towns in alaska? -

i am trying to look into how much an alaska trip would cost but i dont even know where to begin. i dont want to go to a big city, just a small cute town with a nice bed in breakfast of something. we want to look at houses while we are there and hopefuly experience some other attractions too. help? ideas?

Every city in Alaska is a small town except anchorage becuz AK is very big with very small population, talkeetna and girdswood worth visiting.Just remember AK has short visit time( June to Aug, other time mostly closed) and very expensive( motel for $199/night)
