Orlando, FL questions....? -

I visited Florida in May 2009. Went from Orlando all the way to Miami, to Daytona Beach. Literally the whole 6 days I was there it rained all day every day, except for the first day. I have to say that Florida is a beautiful place to visit and inspite of the rain I had a great time, BUT I would love to go back and be able to lay on the nice sunny, warm, beaches! When is the best time to visit vacation in Florida? Prob. the Orlando area...hit up all the parks as well ;)Was May 09 a typical Florida May?

You must have been there the same time as us! We were at Disney from May 16-24 and had a miserable time because of the rain. The Orlando Sentinel stated May s relentless downpours saw rain levels hit 13.9 inches -- more than 10 inches above normal -- for that month. http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2009 That was not a typical May... in fact we went to Disney in May 07 (a week earlier) and had beautiful weather. It was perfect for swimming and sunbathing and it only rained one night the whole time we were there... and that was after the parks were closed for the night. Give May another shot. Oct-May are the dryest months of the year, and when you head to Florida in the summer you have to deal with humidity, too. Maybe try April or May next time. The weather is starting to warm up and there shouldn t be a lot of rainfall... normally

Great Question! I travel often to Florida and can honestly say that I prefer January - Middle of March. Jan Feb are Off-Peak Seasons which means they are less crowded if you re interested in hitting up the theme parks and enjoying mildly warm weather. Many families travel to Florida this time of year for budget friendly getaways, during the off season.May is another great month if you re looking for HOT weather and its right before their rain season which starts in June.
