One day in NYC what are the top 10 things you would do/see/cheap places to eat? -

May I recommend the following.-Empire State Building-Rockefeller Center and the Top of the Rock Observation Deck-Times Square (no trip is complete without a visit to the Crossroads of the World )-Central Park-Brooklyn Bridge (you can walk across it too)-A Ride on the Staten Island Ferry (its free and you can see the Statue of Liberty as the ferry crosses the harbor)-visit the museumsIn regards to place to eat in New York City. There are thousands of restaurants in the Five Boroughs of New York City. Depending on your taste, your budget and your preferred location, may I recommend the link below.http://www.menupages.com/ -- MenuPages.com is the one of the best website on the online. It included menus with prices, as well as restaurant reviews.Good luck and Bon appetit!

Check out nycgo.com for more info about events (many are free!) during your visit. In addition to the previous answers, I would suggest ala carte dining - great foods can be had at many corner cart vendors. I prefer the view from the Top of the Rock to the Empire State Building for 2 reasons - you can see Central Park (not visible from ESB) and you can see the Empire State Building! Try the Museum of Modern Art after 4pm on Fridays - it s free. Check out the amazing architecture of the many churches - St Patricks , Trinity Church at Wall Street (many famous citizens buried in the graveyard here - Clement Clarke Moore - wrote the Night Before Christmas), Cathedral of St John the Divine - all free. Check out their websites - they offer free concerts as well. 1/2 price Broadway Show tickets available same day of show at TKTS in Times Square. Chinatown is always a bargain as is Jack s 99cent store on 32nd Street. Central Park is great, holiday store windows at Sak s, and others along 5th Avenue are spectacular as is Macy s in Herald Square. Enjoy!
