Well, I already answered a very similar question about this just a few days ago, but here s what I said then:I honestly think this is the best thing to do. Let New Yorkers try them, under the American system of Justice.
They got just what they wanted - the chance to make this a circus, a show, to taunt the American people. He didn t give those 3,000 innocent people a fair trial before deciding that they all deserved to die - he is an enemy combatant and a prisoner of war. Justice through the American military system of justice. That would be more of a fair trial than what he gave those 3,000 people.Sure enough, despite past admissions, they plan to plead not guilty for the sole purpose of drawing this thing out and spewing their hate.Shameful and sad. Our tax dollars will be shifted to make sure this guy gets food and security so he can laugh at all of us, all while taking military and police away from the task of keeping this city and this nation safe. Makes me sick.Wanna see a circus? Wait til a lone juror votes against the death penalty...I m not even going to get into an acquittal. Almost certainly won t happen, but stranger things have happened in this system. Oh well, it s the best there is, and let s have confidence they ll get this one right.
although many people feel as if this would bring closure to people, I think that it would open up old wounds and delay the healing process. A lot of people argue that he would not get a fair trial but, I feel no matter where he is tried, he will not/nor does he DESERVE a fair trial.
