Any recommendations on where to have dinner in Vegas for New Years this year 2009/2010? -

Not looking to go to a club, but somewhere we can view the fireworks and have a nice evening.

Strat on the Top .. IT will be the best view. I would suggest you make your reservations immediately. Will fill up quick. IN a good or bad economy this town is busy that night and weekend.

Chip is pretty accurate....Mix, Eiffel Tower, etc....what you need to know though....they will all be either booked (if not already booked, they will be soon) or they will only be open for a special rate or special menu or special event pricing etc etc etc.... all of the better restaurants and nightclubs change their regular stuff and host new years eve parties ...you should call each property/restaurant seperately...if you are trying to book this yourself...and have NO Connections in town. New Year s Eve is the biggest event of the year in Vegas....always.The properties that have fireworks etc tends to vary per year...but consistantly, the properties are:Mandalay BayMGM GrandBellagioStratosphereLas Vegas HiltonVegas messed up last year...trying to do ground based fireworks....but no one could see them, they returned to rooftop launches for the 4th of July...and it worked out well...of course....so, so long as you can see down the strip, or across town, you ll be in great shape.Voodoo lounge on the top floor of The Rio HotelMix at the top of Mandalay BayStratosphere s Top of the World restaurantEiffel Tower (always expensive, even not nye!) @ ParisMon Ami Gabi...at Paris, if you get an outside seating (tough)Freemont Street has a great light show, live bands, etc, but no fireworks to speak of....Firefly Cafe inside the Plaza Hotel on the second floor looks down Freemont, you d be inside and not cold, and it s a cool, friendly, non-corporate place famous for its Sangria Mojitos...and cheaper than most other places too!!! (also easy to go downstairs to the Freemont stuff if you want later!)Standing out on the Strip is popular too!!!

Your best view of the fireworks would be at Top of the World at Stratosphere. It s a really nice restaurant, and the view can t be beat. They fill up with reservations quickly, even when it s not a special occasion, so book quickly. The Eiffel Tower Restaurant would be my second choice. It also has a great view, and it s in the middle of the strip. Again, reserve soon if you re interested.

The following restaurants will give you a great view of the Vegas strip and the fireworksMix at the Mandalay BayTop of the World Restaurant at StratosphereEiffel Tower Restaurant at ParisMon Ami Gabi at Paris Las VegasRemember to make reservations.http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/new-year-
