Going on a solo trip to Oregon this December, practical tips please? -

I ve been assigned to go to Oregon on business and I m going alone. I m a 22 year old woman from LA and I m a little nervous to be trekking around the state in the winter. I have a lot of driving to do, will have a rental car. Can someone give me an idea of what to expect regarding weather? Tips for driving over black ice, should I expect snow in early December, will layering be sufficient to keep warm (I don t even own a heavy coat or rain boots or anything)? Any advice or practical tips you can offer, I d appriciate. Thank you.
