Do I have to wait 15 minutes to swipe my card again after I just swipe to take the mta bus? -

I know I need wait 15 minutes for train station, but how about buses?

Only if it s the same bus route in the same direction.Had that happen to me once. I took the bus home and got off at my stop, then decided I wanted to go get something to eat first at a place farther down the route. Got on the next bus, and it wouldn t take my card. I told the driver I d just gotten off the last bus and he let me board. It s actually 18 minutes, by the way.

Sure, if you take a different bus it s just a free transfer. You just can t jump off one bus and on the next one running the same route, which is so that you can t ride a bit and get off and hand your Metrocard to someone waiting at that stop. Report Abuse

If you re sharing an unlimited ride MetroCard with another person or you re using it on the same bus route, then yes, you will have to be 20 minutes (not 15 minutes). This is the reason why you need to purchase individual cards.Good lucks

If it is a regular metrocard, you can use it up to 4 times in a row without having to wait.If you are using an unlimited metrocard, you have to wait 18 minutes until you can use it again.

from bus to train no u dont have to wait. from bus to bus. you dont have to wait either when u swipe you get a transfer to a next bus.
