You asked for middle class but you don t mean yuppies or uscale neighorhoods? I am not sure which you want. Even though the East side of the Willamette River has some wonderful older neighborhoods and historic homes and boutique neighborhoods with great local food, I would suggest you go to the West side of Portland. That is S.W. because the homes are on larger lots, they are newer, and scenic, less commercial. Nothing in Portland is more than 1/2 hr. from any other spot. The neighborhoods I recommend are Orenco Station, Beaverton, Cedar Hills, West Slope, Raleigh Hills, West Hills. If I misunderstood your inquiry I can give you other neighborhoods. You say middle class and to me that is bourgeois, traditional, but not edgy.
I listed middle class family neighborhoods. Are you looking for more urban spot? Report Abuse
Depends, of course on money. Northwest hills are nice, but snooty. Southeast is way too dangerous, so is North Portland and Gresham. Stick to Sherwood, Tualatin and Clackamas. I live in Brush Prairie and would not trade it for the world
