Change L1 B/L2 to visitor visa.? -

I am on L1B visa and my wife is on L2 visa. Our I-94 expires on Oct 1st 2010. But i am quitting my Job now(Dec 15th 2009). My wife is 30 weeks pregnant. So planned to travel back to my country after delivery (after 2.5 months). Whether is it possible to change my L1B my wife L2 to Visitor visa here itself. If so , how long it will take,what should i do for it, whether it is legal to stay after dec 15th 2009.
