Traveling to the usa from the philippines, will i need a new visa? -

my wife and i are going to america for the wedding of a cousin of mine. thing is, my tourist visa expires april 17, 2009, and my cousin s wedding is may 1, 2009. will i need a new visa? or do i just have get inside the us before my visa expires? if so, can i stay in the us even after my visa has expired (or at least just until may 3 or 4, after the wedding)?thanks!
