DPSST Oregon - Law Enforcement? -

Does an arrest for domestic violence - even if it was not a conviction, create a disqualification for DPSST? If so, is it a universal disqualifier? This was from six years ago and the ex later admitted to lying about it. It took place while I was serving in the Marine Corps. The arrest took place on base by military police. This seems to be preventing me from gaining employment in law enforcement. I have a degree in criminal justice. If you could offer any help, it would be much appreciated.

While it will give you problems in Oregon it will not effect you in other states, such as Montana, Nevada, Tennessee. I have friends in these areas who are law enforcement and they let me know that there they only look at convictions. Even restraining orders that were founded without a criminal conviction would not usually be looked at.

You probably want to put this under Politics Government Law Enforcement Police as this is for US travel.
