Is Tacoma, Wa as ghetto as everyone says it is? -

Yes, that s a totally ignorant sounding question, I know. But I might have to move there, I live north of Seattle and I ve only been to Tacoma on a few occasions for a couple hours. When I tell people I might be moving there they say things like Watch out for drive by s and Which gang are you gonna join? Is it really bad or perhaps maybe these people havent really been there either? Why the bad rap? Someone who lives in Tacoma please tell me how awesome it is!

I live in Tacoma, and no, I wouldn t say it s ghetto....there are some not-so nice parts, but then, every city has those. Overall it used to be a lot worse in the 80s and 90s, but it s gotten much better. I think if you just use common sense (for example, don t go walking around outside in unknown neighborhoods by yourself in the middle of the night), you d be fine. As for the Aroma of Tacoma, nowdays it s only noticeable on warm days when the wind is blowing in a very precise direction...so not very often.

okay i live in tacoma and im from california and tacoma is not nothing like california tacoma is quite it use to be ghetto in the 90 s there use to be gangs and stuff but thats everywhere you go tacoma has alot of new houses now i mean alot the bad people are moving out of there fast theres new stores new schools kids play outside everyday theres more noise the apartments i use to live in in federal way then in tacoma my house is almost to quite i love tacoma i would say federal way is ghetto and thats where all the people moved to and as far people saying stuff its because you live in north seattle thats just like if i asked you this question IS THERE ALL RICH PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN NORTH SEATTLE ........ lol... ive heard that there is but..... i wouldnt worry about it tacoma is fun

I live in Seattle but I go to Tacoma many times, and i can tell you it s not ghetto!!! Not in the least...it just smells like crap. But who says it s ghetto?? Strange.....anyway, good luck moving there and putting up with the Tacoma Aroma!
