I stayed at the Hyatt Regency SFO once. There wasn t much around the area other than the airport and a few other hotels. But they did provide a free shuttle to the BART station, so you could take the train into downtown SF, where there is a lot to do. The Westin Bonaventure is in LA s financial district, and should have easy access to transportation as well. I m not sure what is in the immediate area. But seriously, why don t you choose based on the quality of the conference? That is why you are going.

Best hotel/location for dancing and fun in SF or LA? -
My friend and I (two women 42 y/o) are going to a conference soon. We can choose The Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles or the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in Burlingame. We d either like a fun hotel with a lounge/bar and dancing, or one that has some choices nearby. Would love to hear from anybody with experience of either of these areas and/or hotels. Checking the hotel websites isn t a lot of help because they are essentially advertisements, not documentaries. Traveler reviews online are mixed. Thanks for any help!
