What is the protocol for a South African on a UK ancestral visa visiting the US? -
South Africa is not on the list of visa exempted countries to the United States; the U.K. Ancestry will not waive the U.S. visa requirement. He/She has to apply for a B-2 tourist visa at the Embassy of the United States in London which involves at fee of $131 and, if approved will be issued a 10 year valid tourist visa which grants the right to travel to the U.S. and apply for admission at the port of entry. The duration of stay will be determined by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer and can range from 0 to 180 days.http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/vis ..
