To me, holidays or events that bring a lot of tourists to NYC are perfect opportunities to get out of town. Hotels anywhere will be expensive on New Years, but here in the city especially... and if you don t want to go to Times Square there s really nothing you couldn t do anywhere else. And yes, to that last commenter: I said get out of town. I m a born and raised New Yorker. We do call it town in certain contexts. As the old song goes: New York, New York, it s a helluva town: the Bronx is up and the Battery s down.
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
You should stay in New York, most people would want to go there for New Year s anyway, and you live there! Have a great New Year s!
You don t live in New York don t lie. Who calls New York a Town?
