a few years ago i visited chinatown ny - canal street. there was an endless amount of shops that sold, bags, purses, belts etc. however i was there the other day, and i only saw a couple of shops selling a few handbags. it is mostly people approaching u on the street and asking u to follow them. does the shops no longer exist? is this the only way to get them?

These shops have gone underground because the activity is illegal. And immoral. If you buy counterfeit designer bags then you are denying the designers the fruit of their labor. I am sure that you would not want someone else to be paid for the work that you do, but that is what you are asking to happen here.
