Hotels in downtown Chicago? -

I m looking for a nice, but not to expensive hotel in Chicago. Any ideas?

What is not too expensive for you, and when do you want to be there? Rates right now are pretty good in the city. I just checked hotels.com for one night 12/18-19 and some very nice hotels are in the $100 range. Most of these rates are prepaid and non-refundable.W Lakeshore - a bit too trendy and loud for my tastes, but $119/nt.Doubletree Mag Mile - nice modern hotel, great location, $109/nt.Hilton Suites Mag Mile - All rooms are suites, very nice property. $114/ntMarriott Downtown Mag Mile - I ve heard it s nice, $129There are many more on the Magnificent Mile, just enter Magnificent Mile Chicago in the search bar at hotels.com.For my money, though, I d go with the Sofitel at $165/nt. This is a true luxury 5 star hotel and is the only such 5-star Sofitel in the country. I ve also stayed at the very nice 4-star NYC Sofitel and the Chicago property is MUCH nicer and significantly more affordable.Edited to add that you should also do a web search for hotel discounts. Earlier this year, for instance, United Airlines had a promo code for 20% off any Marriott which I took advantage of. There are many such codes out there that anyone can use. Also, if you re into collecting hotel points, there may be some additional promos which will give you bonuses.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
