If you buy tickets online through Greyhound, the trip is about 2.5 hours and costs about $30. During the week there is one bus that leave at 7am and gets to NYC by 10am with one transfer. All of the rest of the buses leave in the afternoon but most of them have no transfers and will get you there faster. On the weekend the bus only leaves in the afternoon.
Probably bus. There is not train. There are airplanes, but, when you consider the cost of getting to and from the airports, as well as the cost of the airplanes tickets, and the time for getting to and from the airports, which is longer than the actual flight, they are not the best option.
Martz Trailways leaves from their station one block up Lackawanna Avenue from the Mall at Steamtown. The bus leaves for New York over 30 times a day since it s a commuter bus.http://www.martztrailways.com/from-strou
