Go to mapquest.com, plug in your starting and ending addresses, and you ll get turn-by-turn directions and a time estimate on how long it would take to drive straight through. You ll also get distances for each leg, and the total overall distance. Divide that by the mileage you get in whatever you drive, multiply that by the average cost of gas along the route, and you ll get your cost. Factor in some hotel/motel rooms along the way, some food, and whatever sightseeing you might do, and you ll get an idea of what the total cost will be. You can get gas costs at gasbuddy.com, too. Next, go to travelocity.com to get the cost of airfare. Piece of cake - should take you 10 minutes max to find out which is better, or at least cheaper.
Down town to down town interstate routes10/59/24/75/81/64/78 is 1460 miles 2 long days or 3 easy ones. figure on $3 a gallon for gas, plus hotels( with holiday availability, or lack there of) at holiday prices. Going to NYC I think I d fly. It is the time of year that the roads can be a real ***** on the right coast, and mountains to drive through, I wouldn t mess with driving unless you are a seasoned winter driver. Merry Christmas to you and yours !!
I go from central PA to Texas for college and it is definitely cheaper to fly. I usually find deals for under $250. I believe southwest flies to San Antonio. I just booked a one way ticket with them from DAL to BWI for $100 so their prices are very reasonable. You also get two free bags with southwest. Check out Kayak.com for the best deals on plane tickets. Hope this helps!
Well the thing you have to decide is it worth to drive if it takes 2 days to get there and then 2 days backSince you really don t need a car in NYC, I d say cheaper to fly.
1830 miles and 27 hours. Check airline tickets, I ve never been on a vacation where I had 54 hours to waste on driving.
