It s not the end of the world. Look at it as an adventure. Colorado will be radically different than Florida. Colorado Springs is a military town, so many of the kids you meet will be military brats too. You will have that in common.Odds are your step-dad has a 4 year tour in Colorado Springs. You have 2 1/2 years of HS school left before college. You will then have a choice, you could go back to Florida for higher education or you could stay in Colorado (Colorado College in C. Springs is a GREAT school), or you could go somewhere else.
Having known quit a few military brats who were seriously messed up, I can only say you are lucky it will only be for a couple of years and then you can go off to college. Sit down with your high school guidance counselor and talk it out. Then when you get to Colorado Springs, do the same thing again. Not telling anyone how you feel is a big mistake, The one real plus I can think of is the whole new wardrobe. You are going to need some seriously warm clothes, boots, coats... Wait to buy things in Colorado, but think of it as a major shopping opportunity.
Hey I am a miltary kid too.Yea it sucks moving around but there are up sides. You meet lots of new people and make new friends. Yea I hate moving to I wish I could just stay somewhere but think about you want your mom to be happy and plus your going to all new places and you can still talk to your old friends. I use it to see what me people like. I use it as a way for people to see me like here I am a rapper. When I lived in maryland I was a game designer. So really nothing you can do. Sorry really there is no help.
My son was an Army Brat. He wasn t happy with the first move either. But once he got settle in, he loved it.
