What do you think about Chicagos Sears Tower being renamed the Willis Tower? -

Money talks. Many Chicago landmarks don t have the names they were originally given because of money:Weeghman Field...Wrigley FieldComiskey Park II...US Celular FieldChicago Stadium...United CenterMarshall Field...Macy sRoemont Horizon...Allstate ArenaBridgeport Arena...Toyota ParkPalmolive Building....Playboy Building...back to Palmolive BuildingCarson, Pirie, Scott...?Others have had there names changed too:Fine Arts Building...Museum of Science and IndustryOrchard Field...O Hare FieldNorthwestern Station...Ogilvie Transportation CenterWomen s Building...Art InstituteIllinois Building...Thompson CenterThe tower is such a huge building. It has something that won t change that I use to identify it...its address. I have resolved to say 230 South Wacker when referring to it.By the way, it wasn t the original Sears Tower. That tower stiil stands at Homan Arthington:http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co

I don t think that it is as big of a deal as some people are making it out to be. It is kind of fun to call it Big Willy now (it kind of goes along with the other tall landmark building in town, the Cock). Anyway, even though I have lived in the area my entire life, I had never been to the Skydeck until this last summer. It is definitely worth a look if you haven t been. The new ledges give a unique perspective on the city. If you go with a friend, have the friend stand in one ledge and take his/her picture from the next ledge.

I don t care for the name Willis at all. I think it s very bland and wimpy sounding. The Sears Tower sounds more powerful and interesting. I live in Chicagoland and still can t get used to calling it the Willis Tower. It will always be the Sears Tower to me.

i think it is stupid, I have called it the Sears Tower my whole life and that has not changed. Just like Sox park is still called Comisky Park by me

Don t think is should be changed, however all the airports around me have changed their names, so it wouldn t be a disaster.

Can t be as bad the name of the stadium where the Miami Dolphins play football.Landshark Stadium. How pathetic.

It really doesn t bother me. It s all a money and power thing. I will continue to call these places whatever I first heard their names to be. I ve got more important things to be concerned with.

I do not think about it since the name changed in July.
